Roger CRUZ began his professional career as a letterer for Editora Abril, the Brazilian publishing house, for whom he lettered many Portuguese translations of American comics; he then worked as a writer and art assistant for Mil Perigros, a short-lived black and white comics magazine.
When Art & Comics Studio first introduced Brazilian artists to the American comic book market, he had his opportunity to work as an artist for Marvel Comics on the titles "Ghost Rider", "Hulk", "Uncanny X-Men", "X-Men Alpha", "X-Patrol", "Generation X", "X-Calibre", "X-Factor", "X-Man", "Avengers: Timeslide" and "Silver Surfer".  After which Roger took a break from comics.
When Roger returned to work on the American market, he contributed on several Marvel titles such as, "X-Men", "Wolverine and Magneto: Dark Seduction" and for Image Comics on "Darkness" and "Ascension".
In 2002, he illustrated several issues of Wonder woman.  Since 2004, he has been working quite steadily for Marvel Comics once again, as the artist on "Amazing Fantasy", "Arana", "Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" and currently on "X-Men: First Class".  Roger's work can also be seen gracing the covers of "Marvel Adventures SuperHeroes" and "Incredible Hercules"!
