Here you will find links to art by Mauricio Melo. Born in the city of São Paulo, Brazil, Mauricio studied drawing at the Fábrica de Quadrinhos (known today as Quanta Academia de Artes), where he studied under Roger Cruz, Marc Campos and Ivan Reis. In late 2000 Mauricio began working in the art studio for DC/Vertigo publishing in Brazil. In 2001 he entered the American Comics industry working for Avatar Press and has worked on titles such as "Stargate Atlantis", and "Stargate SG-1". Besides that, he has worked on several books about the origins of some of Marvel Comic's classic heroes such as “Spiderman”, “The Hulk” and “The X-Men”, for RD Children’s Publishing. Besides his continually working with commercial art locally in Brazil, Mauricio is currently working on a new series of the cult movie classic “Re-Animator”.
